Already possessing significant experience in parking projects for various vertical markets (hospitals, hotels, ports, airports, etc.), Cityzen as the exclusive representative in Greece of DESIGNA is now introducing technological parking solutions in the safe and secure truck parking areas (SSTPAs) on highways.

These parking areas are of major importance to the logistics and transportation industry as they ensure the safety of goods and improve the working conditions of professional truck drivers by providing them with a secure parking and overnight stay area, along with essential services such as dining, coffee, and showers.

Through a competitive process, Cityzen was selected to supply, install, and maintain Designa's parking equipment for the two new truck parking areas on the Aegean Motorway, in Aerino (one area per direction). The official operation of the parking areas began on July 2024 and truck drivers can enjoy value-added services at competitive prices during their rest periods, along with protection and security for themselves, their vehicles, and the goods they transport.

The equipment installed by Cityzen, for which it is exclusively responsible for maintenance, includes:

  • Closed-circuit television (CCTV) on a 24-hour basis, ensuring maximum controlled access
  • 2 entry terminals
  • 2 exit terminals with pay at exit function (via credit / debit card)
  • 4 access barriers
  • 4 license plate recognition cameras
  • 6 access turnstiles for pedestrians
  • 12 card readers for turnstile access
  • 4 automatic pay stations (cash/coins/card)
  • 2 manual pay stations

The parking process includes, beyond the classic ticket issuance method, the ability to reserve a parking spot and make payments via a smart application that communicates with DESIGNA equipment, allowing professional drivers, completely contactless, entry and exit of their vehicles from the parking area. Specifically, the parking system is connected via an application interface (API) with the e-service platform developed by the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the National Centre for Research and Technological Development (HIT/CERTH).

The expansion of Cityzen parking projects on the Aegean Motorway strengthens the country's transport infrastructure and offers safe and modern parking solutions for professional drivers.
