From paper tickets to fully ticketless parking at Düsseldorf Airport
Travel should be as stress-free as possible, especially at the airport. With Designa's new ticketless parking solution at Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), that is now reality: a seamless parking experience without paper tickets that gets travellers to their destination faster while protecting the environment.
Over the past year, DUS comprehensively transformed its parking management, switching to a fully ticketless system with a modern web shop for online reservations.
Combining comfort, efficiency and sustainability
Parking management had to increase comfort for travellers, drop-off and pick-up drivers, visitors and staff, improve the efficiency of airport operations and contribute to sustainability and resource conservation.
Classic ticket barriers were to disappear, with no compromise on safety or reliability.
A hybrid LPR-and-QR system, run by the Designa Cloud
Designa uses a hybrid solution of licence plate recognition (LPR) and a QR-code fallback. The Designa Cloud controls all functions centrally, from entry and exit through intercom to digital pre-booking for contract parkers. Mobile payment is available directly via the DUS website, and digital signage and dynamic pricing are prepared.
The non-public arrivals driveway will be developed partly as a FREEFLOW and partly as a TICKETLESS area.
