High Recognition Accuracy

FOCUS LPR-HK with 4 MP resolution for lane widths up to 5.5 m and ranges up to 12 m. FOCUS LPR-SV as a compact built-in camera – directly integrable into parking barriers or pedestal columns.

Deep Learning (LPR-ND)

All-in-one camera with deep learning algorithm and direction detection. Recognizes even non-standard license plates with exceptional accuracy – ideal for Freeflow systems without barriers.

FOCUS LPR-QC – Complete System

Camera, IR illumination, processor, and recognition software in one compact unit. For lane widths up to 5.5 m, mountable vertically or horizontally. Operating range from –40 to +50 °C.

Features

How license plate recognition works in parking.

At the entrance, the camera reads the license plate and converts it into text using image processing. The Designa system stores the image, the plate and the ticket data – at the exit, the recognized plate can optionally be compared with the one captured at entry. With the software extension ADD-ON LPR, license plate recognition is fully integrated into the parking management system: vehicles entering and exiting are visible in real time as image and video, and the status of all vehicles in the facility is available at any time.

Security mode

Exiting always requires two-factor verification: contract parkers use their license plate plus an RFID card or QR code, short-term parkers their license plate plus ticket. This ensures that no card or ticket is used with another vehicle – the conflict management tool notifies the operator of any mismatch in real time.

Anti-circulation

The system recognizes by license plate when a vehicle repeatedly enters and exits. The number of permitted entries can be limited individually – this prevents systematic misuse of free parking periods.

Replacement ticket by plate

If a short-term parking ticket is lost, the exact entry time or the last payment can be determined via the license plate and a corresponding replacement ticket can be issued.

Greylist

When a license plate on the greylist is recognized, the operator receives a silent alarm and can take further action if necessary.

Pre-booking

If an online reservation system is connected, customers with a booking enter and exit by license plate – fully automated, without a ticket.

GDPR-compliant data protection

A GDPR-compliant configuration anonymizes and deletes license plate data according to the operator's data protection policy.

Yes – LPR-HK and LPR-ND can store images to an SD card in offline mode, allowing them to function without a permanent network connection. However, a LAN connection is recommended for regular operation within the DESIGNA parking management system.
