Why Hamburg Airport has relied on Designa for over 10 years
The successful partnership between Designa and Hamburg Airport has existed for more than 10 years. In 2008 the existing system was upgraded to a modern Designa solution; since then we have continuously expanded it and added new functions.
High security requirements, strongly fluctuating entry and exit frequencies and a wide range of user groups: the Designa solution ideally meets the conditions typical of a major international airport and guarantees uninterrupted, smooth operation even during time-critical conversion and construction projects.
9 parking areas, 12,500 spaces, one smooth operation
Hamburg's international airport comprises 9 car parks and parking areas with 12,500 permanent and up to 3,000 seasonally managed spaces, as well as staging areas for taxis, shuttle services and coaches.
Ongoing development of the overall system with smooth operation and technological future-proofing were and remain central requirements.
One system for all user groups
Functions were implemented for the different user groups: passengers (parking cards, pre-booking, e-commerce), short-term parkers, hotel guests, taxis (taxi management incl. access control), shuttle providers, VIP customers and employees with various access permissions.
