One of the world's largest shopping centres runs on Designa's industry solution
Opened in 1999, the Mid Valley Megamall sits in the south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It is three times the size of the city's best-known shopping arcade, the Suria beneath the Petronas Towers. In 2000 it was awarded the “Best Shopping-Complex Award” by Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism.
Replacing the system during live operation
After completion, the mega mall was significantly expanded once more with the “The Gardens” section. The existing parking management system no longer met the rising demands and was to be fully replaced during the expansion, in live operation.
Everything had to be fully operational by the official opening date.

Up to 30,000 vehicles a day on one system
The installed Designa solution handles up to 30,000 vehicles every day. The parking area comprises 14 zones with more than 11,000 spaces, expanded by a further 4,000 spaces (phase 3) during the extension.
The system was configured for numerous user groups: short-term parkers, visitors, hotel guests, cinema-goers, service providers, VIP customers and employees with various access permissions.
