The flagship of luxury destinations: Shopping in the Mall of Emirates in Dubai
ONE OF THE LARGEST SHOPPING MALLS IN THE WORLD USES A DESIGNA PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
MOREOVER, THE "TICKETLESS PARKING EXPERIENCE (APP)" HAS NOW LAUNCHED.
The Mall of Emirates in Dubai has been welcoming more than 40 million visitors annually since 2005 and is home to shops of the world's biggest fashion brands. Also in the Mall: top-class gastronomy and entertainment, such as Ski Dubai and one of the largest cinemas in the Middle East.
THE CHALLENGE
When it comes to parking in malls, one problem their customers encounter, is waiting in lines at the payment machines. This problem can easily be solved by enabling customers to register their cars online and providing their payment details. The payment then is done online and automatically. Stressful waiting will come to an end. The Mall of Emirates wanted to offer their customers a parking experience of a special kind, comfortable and simple in use. Implemented on the parking deck all in all without disturbing the daily routine and integrated into the malls APP via webservices.

THE SOLUTION
The "Ticketless Parking Experience" project for registered customers has successfully been launched in 2020 in the Mall of the Emirates. Together with ilogs, our partner KTC International in Dubai and the customer Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), the pioneer for shopping centres, retail and leisure activities in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the project has been planned and rapidly implemented. Initially, all 40 lanes were equipped with LPR (License Plate Recognition) cameras, and then features such as APP & WEB, Frequent Parker and Mobile Payment were implemented. Pre-booking is also in place, as well as further APP-features and the expansion of the concept to all parking customers.
Plus, a feature called "Max trips per day" prevents revenue loss by prohibiting the repeated usage of complimentary time in the car park.
The advantages are obvious: with "Ticketless Parking", DESIGNA and ilogs once again prove what it means to park comfortably. The customer enters and leaves the car park barrier-free, without waiting times and without fear of losing their ticket. The operator benefits from lower service costs and high profitability, while at the same time making a contribution to the environment as paper tickets are no longer required.
